SUPRISE!! You're on candid camera...

Care to see my newest toy? I thought you might!

A photo of the bathroom...

Wait - what's that up in the right hand corner?

A closer look...

"Smile!"

This is of course, a fake camera. But it has a motion dedector and with 2 AA batteries it swivels and has a blinking red light! Could life GET any more fun!!?? This is one of my April Fool brainstorms, but it causing me so much enjoyment, I'm going to leave it up year round. Nothing beats inviting guests over and loading them up with beverages...

Yee-Haw Yip, Yip, Yip!!!

And to continue with pics of the house...

The girls room.

Entering the room:

I managed to find used horseshoes on ebay and used them for a border around the room and had enough left over to make shelves with.

I made each girl a sign with their name spelled out in painted rope. Actual names have been blurred out to protect the guilty.

And here is the small start I've got on the boys room:

I got a bunch of stuff at the army surplus store and ordered a set of real dogtags for each boy. I don't know if you can tell - but there are bullet hole decals all over the wall (which I also put on their furniture) I've got a bunch of ideas for the room - I just need time to do them.

And with that - we have 31 minutes to find 4 AWANAS books and bags, make & eat dinner, get shoes on and get to AWANAS... YIPE!!

Behold - my creation...

Let's relish in all my hard work shall we...? Yes, I knew you'd agree. I finally got my large 3ft x 3ft canvas to paint and hang on this exceedingly large bare wall:

Of course, I didn't start the project until after 10:30pm last night.

~~5 hours later~~

Yes - it was somewhere around 4am when my head hit the pillow - but ya know...sometimes you just have to push through and finish the project! Here is what I came up with:

A closer look:

I blended some shades of brown together and swirled the paint on the canvas as a base. The squares are all cut up scrapbooking paper that I decoupaged onto the canvas and then I glued the silk daisies on. I made rings out of microbeads (beads the size of sand) and threw a little irridescent glitter around for good measure.

Standing on the part of the ladder that says "This is not a step - do not stand or sit on" was a little nerve-racking but I changed a few lightbulbs and washed the window while I was up there *can you say random?* so it was a ll for a good cause. I have been wanting to hang something there ever since we moved in, but didn't have the stomach to venture into JoAnn Fabrics for an hour with 4 tired disobedient kids until yesterday. [In their defense: it WAS the first time they have ever been in a store before, how could they have possibly known not to lay spead eagle on the floor of the aisle chanting "When are we leaving?!?!" *rolls eyes*]

So, I am happy with my creation for the entryway. I also have pics of the almost completed girls' room and of the -still needs several hours of my undying attention - boys' room Coming to an entry near you...

Fun with photos...

I was able to replace my digital camera with part of our income tax return...

I am enjoying it VERY much.

V.E.R.Y. M.U.C.H.

I have been pining for this camera for several years now and am finally the proud owner of a digital SLR *sighs contentedly* I actually ended up getting a refurbished one of last year's model - so the original $1000 price tag ended up being only $400. Still a hefty sum - but a good investment I think!

Another one that I like:

And of course I have a zoom lens:

Dear Starbucks...

Dear Starbucks,

You are my very best friend. You and every SINGLE ONE of your friendly, caring baristas!! No matter what kind of day I'm having, I know that if I pull up to your drive-through window with no make-up and a throbbing headache you will still love me! Not only will you love me - you will ask me how my day is going with such convincing sincerity that I will actually believe that you really care!!

You will faithfully flash that *charm school* smile and engage me in lively conversation that will make me feel special and give me warm fuzzies.

Love is certainly worth a mere $4.65! After all, it's not just about a beverage - it's a relationship!!

Who ever wrote "Money Can't Buy Me Love" obviously was not holding a venti carmel frappuccino with extra carmel sauce *made with love* in the other hand!
